Hi, my name is Ivan. I met Jesus almost four years ago, without any hope or belief that anything could change in my life. Whilst searching for my identity as a teenager it just happened that I ended in drug addiction. It started harmlessly, but it ended the worst possible for me - with heroin.
Very quickly my life became a real mess: police, thefts, broken family relationships, sickness and despair were the result of my experiments with drugs. I found myself in complete darkness, all alone, h
Ten years of war have brought a heavy depression on the people of Serbia, especially on young people. War and depression have brought thousands of young people turn into drugs, alcohol and immoral way of life. Young people in Serbia are left alone with no hope for better future, desperately expecting better times, exposed to immoral and non ethic example that the community is offering. Even for those who want to come out from this hopeless situation, the way looks impossible, since the social institutions are in hopeless situation, too. General desperation in the country is killing all motivation that anything can be changed.
The same thing is in motorcyclists community as well, people are looking for true freedom that no event or motorcycle could offer. That’s why there is a great presence of drug addiction, alcoholism and immoral activities among young people in this area. At the end of 2002, government lets importation of old motorcycles from Western Europe, and the „world of motorbikes“ starts its great growth. Unfortunately, many young people are coming in this world unprepared for the challenges that are in, also with no education of protective gear and helmets as well. Since the year of 2002, number of accidents with death consequence, raised for 300 percents. The majority of those who died were driving in alcohol and drug addiction states.
The ministry of Christian Motorcyclists Association arises from the urgent need for bringing hope of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to this people. For this purpose, we desire to start a project that will bring changes in this community, by taking practical steps to promote biblical standards and moral and ethic way of living, being a part of motorcyclist community.
